Dr. Brenda Cassellius congratulated Yinghua Academy on its recent designation as a 2016 Reward School. Our school is among the highest performing Title I schools in the state, This recognition reflects our students’ hard work, achievement and progress from year to year.

In December 2016, Yinghua was recognized with the Charter School Innovation Award for New forms of Accountability for Schools through the Minnesota Association of Charter School. The award recognizes Yinghua’s online Advanced Chinese high school courses which meet the needs of K-8 immersion graduates.

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan named Yinghua Academy a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School based on overall academic excellence.  In 2015, the U.S. Department of Education awarded this honor to 335 schools, seven of which are in Minnesota.

Yinghua is one of only 15 charter schools nationwide to receive the National Blue Ribbon award in 2015 and one of only a handful of immersion schools ever to receive the award. Yinghua has been featured in the Sunday New York Times and International New York Times as well as the Minneapolis Star Tribune and received a 2015 Confucius Classroom of the Year Award from Hanban.
