School tours have been temporarily cancelled until further notice in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order 20-02.
Once tours resume, here is information about how to sign up.
The best way for prospective parents to learn about Yinghua Academy is to participate in a one-hour guided tour to see our K-8 students and their teachers in action on a school day. Call or write to Office Manager Emily Fowler to register for a tour (612-788-9095). Tours are offered on selected Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
You also may wish to attend one or both of Yinghua’s group presentations for prospective families. A December evening presentation is offered for parents and guardians, and an interactive Saturday morning sample class in February provides an opportunity for your family to witness immersion education in action.
DECEMBER Parent/Guardian Information Session Gather in the school cafeteria on a weekday evening in December from 6:30 to 8 p.m. School leaders speak about language immersion teaching methods, the Yinghua Academy mission and curriculum, school safety, and student activities. This session is designed for parents; no children, please. Registration is not required. The December 2020 date will be posted here.
FEBRUARY Sample Immersion Class Gather at school on a Saturday morning in February. This session is for prospective kindergarten students and their parents/guardians. After a brief introduction, you accompany your child to a kindergarten classroom where our teachers engage children in a short lesson while you observe. Students remain in class for activities while parents move to the cafeteria to listen to and ask questions of Yinghua parents and school leaders. You must register in advance for this session. Arrival begins at 9:30 a.m., and the event concludes at 11:30 a.m. The February 2021 date will be posted here with a link to the registration form.
