Friends of Yinghua Academy (FOYA)
Friends of Yinghua Academy (FOYA) was established in 2025 as the charitable foundation supporting Yinghua Academy, the nation’s first public Chinese immersion charter school.
Created to strengthen and sustain Yinghua’s mission through long-term financial support, FOYA provides a structured avenue for major gifts, planned giving, and estate donations. While the school has always benefited from generous annual contributions, the founding of FOYA marked a new chapter in its development efforts—allowing donors to invest strategically in Yinghua’s future.
FOYA has two funds where you can give. First, the FOYA Active fund which provides flexible and accessible funds to meet the school’s immediate needs. And second, the FOYA Longevity Fund, an investment fund intended to grow over time to meet the long-term financial needs of the school.

Stocks and Securities
Donating securities and stock is a tax-efficient way to support Yinghua Academy’s mission while making a significant impact on our students. When you transfer appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds directly to Yinghua, you can avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value of the assets. Another powerful giving option is a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA. If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free distribution directly from your IRA to Yinghua Academy. This can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) while reducing your taxable income. QCDs are a simple way to make a charitable gift without facing the typical tax implications of withdrawing from your retirement account. For many donors, this is a strategic way to meet financial goals while supporting Yinghua’s mission.
