Calling 4th through 8th-grade girls interested in creating a phone app!
Last year, Yinghua had four Technovation Challenge teams. One of our teams was a regional winner and advanced to the next level of competition!
The Technovation[MN] Challenge inspires and enables teen and preteen girls to dream up, design, code, and create a real, working mobile phone app. Working with professional mentors, all-girl teams develop a real-world combination of technical and entrepreneurial skills. The apps need to solve a community problem, and the girls not only design and code the app, but create a marketing pitch for it, as well. Yinghua’s Technovation[MN] teams will be forming in the coming weeks. All interested girls, grades 4 through 8, and parents/guardians are invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, December 13, 4:15-5:00. A Technovation[MN] regional director will be at Yinghua to describe the program and answer questions. Teams meet once a week at Yinghua after school, mid-January through March. There is NO CHARGE for this awesome, one-of-a-kind program. Girls attending the December 13 meeting may stay in Aftercare with no charge between 3:45 and 4:15 p.m., as long as you contact firstname.lastname@example.org before the meeting to request Aftercare.
Indicate interest in joining a Yinghua Technovation[MN] team by registering online December 3-10: Current Families > After School > Enrichment. By indicating your interest, you are not obligated to participate, but those who do so will be added to an email list for Technovation[MN] updates. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
