Social Studies in April, 2015

Posted on by

This month we focus on Minnesota industry — the flour and lumber industries.  In addition, we will have a guest teacher, law student Xin Tian.  Tian Laoshi will teach about separation of power in U.S. and in China, and also about bioethics and treatment of animals in U.S. and China.

We are completing our study of the Civil War.  The timing is excellent because exactly 150 years ago this month, the Civil War ended.  Students will research one influential individual from that time:  Clara Barton, Frederick Douglass, James Longstreet or Emma Edmonds.
