Hi 6A parents,

Today YACA delivered Read-a-Thon envelopes, one per student, to each homeroom. Last year our students earned a whopping $19,077 by reading 207,551 minutes and every penny was spent on resources, services, or opportunities that benefit our kids and teachers!  Imagine how these outstanding efforts contributed to our students’ literacy!

From next Wednesday, October 15, through Friday, October 24, students will be recording their minutes spent reading in Chinese and in English! This means that children can read independently, read a book with someone, or be read to!  Reading and being read to during class time count, too, but it is the students’ responsibility to record these minutes! Please make every effort to cheer our students on with your words.  Let’s aim for 100% participation in the reading goal, whether or not they raise money!

The students will return the envelopes to your classrooms on Monday October 27.

Thank you so much for your support!
