The Mid Autumn Festival this year will be Monday, September 12th. Although it is not a holiday that Yinghua celebrates in a formal way with its students, this is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people. The Festival is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar each year, on a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and roundest. You may want to visit your local Chinese bakery and sample mooncakes, which is the traditional food of this festival.
