Yearbook

Yearbook Overview

YACA helps Yinghua with yearbook planning and production. This year’s yearbook co-chairs are Liz Pauly and Erin Spector.

How to Get Involved

The biggest way that you can help is to take pictures – lots of them. We are looking for all sorts of pictures, from day to day classroom and activity shots, to athletic events to special celebrations.  More information on how to submit pictures can be found below under Photo Submission Guidelines for Yearbook.

If you are interested in doing more than just taking pictures, Liz and Erin would love to talk with you. They are happy taking this adventure right now, but one of them is the parent of a 7th grader, so it would be great to train a successor.  If you are interested, contact us at pictures@yinghuaacademy.org and we will get back to you.

Photo Submission Guidelines for Yearbook

  • Take LOTS of pictures! Action shots, events, classroom activities – things are happening all year long and we want the pictures to prove it!
  • Be selective – you may have taken 50 photos for the latest artistic partnership, but maybe 2-3 are really good. Send the really good ones.
  • Photos should be digital
  • Resolution should be at least 3mp in order to reproduce clearly.
  • Color photographs please
  • Photo detail should be crisp and in focus.
  • Try to zoom in on the subject and fill the picture space.
  • We can crop the photos for you, but please avoid submitting photos with small details (such as a crowd shot taken from a long distance).
  • Natural light is always preferred but on really sunny days it helps to use a flash to erase shadows.
  • Please label photos with child’s (and or children’s) name, grade, location/event where photo was taken, and date. If you don’t know all of the names, don’t worry – just do the best you can.

All photos should be sent via email to pictures@yinghuaacademy.org.
