The lists below are the fundraiser events and dates Yinghua Academy and YACA are hosting for the 2011-2012 academic year. The income raised supports many academic efforts at Yinghua Academy, as well YACA expenses such as First Friday Coffees, teacher appreciation gifts, and general meeting speakers. | Read-a-thon | This week long event challenges students to read a specified number of minutes and raise a specified dollar amount from “sponsors”. All participants are given a reward. | Red Envelope | In Chinese culture, a red envelope, known as hongbao, is a monetary gift which is given during special occasions. YA holds the Red Envelope campaign during the Chinese New Year and simply asks families to donate a monetary gift.
