YACA helps support many aspects of Yinghua Academy’s mission. Fundraising provides the critical financial resources for this support. YACA focuses on a short list of high impact fundraisers. We keep our efforts efficient and fun! If you’ve ever attended one of our events, you know how amazing they are.

Fundraising campaigns are designed to attract donors from all levels and from both inside and outside of the Yinghua Academy community. The YACA Board and school administrators approve the campaigns each spring for the following school year, but welcome suggestions year-round! Fundraising wouldn’t be successful without the generous past and future financial and time commitments of all Yinghua Academy’s supporters!

The income raised supports many academic, artistic, and community building events that strive to provide enriching experiences for school staff, teachers, student, and parents of Yinghua Academy. Some examples include:

Below is the list of fundraisers we organize each year. All donations (not for products) are tax-deductible. If you would like a tax deductible receipt, please provide us with your e-mail address and we will send it to you electronically.

Used Uniform and Chinese Heritage Clothing Sale – Held twice per year, the Uniform and Chinese HeritageClothing Sale is a great way to re-use, get a great deal on uniform pieces, and
support Yinghua.

Chinook Book Coupon Book Sale –Thursday, September 6, 7:00 p.m. – Everyone’s
favorite “green” coupon book is a resource for living well and having fun in the
Twin Cities. 50% of the sale price comes back to Yinghua.

Read-a-Thon – October: Wednesday, October 17 through Monday, October 29,
2012 – The Read-a-Thon is an event started in 2011 to advance our students’
reading skills while raising money for the school. Rewards are given to the top
readers and top fundraising classes in three divisions each year.

Give to the Max Day – November 15, 2012 – An online giving platform that allows
you to easily find organizations that match your giving goals and support them
through secure credit or debit card donations.

Red Envelope Campaign – February 2013 – In honor of the Chinese New Year
tradition of giving “hongbao,” or gifts of money in red envelopes, YACA annually
asks for your support for enrichment experiences for the students and families
of Yinghua Academy. 100% of Red Envelope Donations go directly to Yinghua
Academy.

Lantern Festival Gala- Saturday, February 23, 2013* (Tentative) – The Lantern Festival is
the party of the year. This fundraising gala is more than just a night out for parents;
for the past few years, the band, the food, and the environment have drawn people
from Yinghua Academy and beyond. A silent auction with amazing goods rounds
out the experience.
