YACA Role & Structure

Purpose

The Yinghua Academy Community Association (YACA) is the parent group of Yinghua Academy, similar to a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at a traditional school.

Mission

The mission of YACA is to support the mission of Yinghua Academy, its students, teachers and staff by providing volunteers, fundraising and assistance in cooperation with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Members

All parents and guardians of Yinghua Academy students are considered “general members” of YACA.

YACA Board

YACA is led by a board consisting of nine elected members. See list here.  Elections are held at the end of spring trimester.  A call for interested candidates will go home in the spring.

Fundraising: Engaging individuals and the philanthropic community in support of Yinghua Academy

Education: Providing parent and family learning opportunities

School and Family: Hosting community building events to foster connections within the Yinghua community

Communication: Listening to and speaking with the Yinghua Academy community to increase awareness, engagement and understanding of Yinghua Academy and its mission
